Liebe Studierende,
hier werden die Fragen beantwortet, die am häufigsten von euch gestellt werden und auf den anderen Seiten dieses Blogs nicht behandelt werden. Bitte arbeitet an der Stelle mit, falls eure Fragen durch den Besuch dieses Blogs nicht geklärt wurden. Einfach hier in der Rubrik “Kommentare” die Fragen stellen oder per email an carina.wegner@fh-kiel.de die Fragen zusenden. Ich beantworte eure Fragestellungen zügig!
- Kann ich im Rahmen des Erasmusprogrammes im Ausland studieren, wenn ich nicht aus der EU komme und keine deutsche Staatsangehörigkeit habe?
Ja, auch Studierende aus Drittländern können wir seit dem laufenden akademischen Jahr über Erasmus fördern.
- Benötige ich FCE oder TOEFL Sprachdiplom für die Teilnahme am Erasmusprogramm?
Wenn du im Rahmen des Erasmus-Programms an eine unserer Partnerhochschulen geht, benötigst du kein Sprachdiplom. Die Sprachenkenntnisse des Ziellandes müssen im Zentrum für Sprachen und Interkulturelle Kompetenzen nachgewiesen werden.
- Muss ich unbedingt erworbene 90 credits(BA) oder 30 Credits (MA) zur Bewerbungsfrist vorweisen können?
Wichtig ist es, dass man die vorausgesetzte Creditsanzahl vorweisen kann, bevor man ins Ausland geht. Zur Bewerbungsfrist müssen die Credits nicht unbedingt vollständig nachgewiesen werden.
- Muss ich im Rahmen des Erasmusprogrammes die Studiengebühren der Partneruniversität bezahlen?
Nein. Das Studium an unseren Partneruniversitäten ist gebührenfrei. Gleichzeitig aber muss man an der FH Kiel in der Zeit des Auslandsstudiums eingeschrieben sein und den Semesterbeitrag bezahlen. Ein Teil davon kann erstattet werden. (Siehe bitte den Artikel “Erstattung des Semesterbeitrages“).

- What are the steps to follow?
Step 1: apply for exchange at the international office
Step 2: Find the courses that you want to take when abroad. Make sure that they fit into the overall curriculum of the program that you are currently studying at the FH Kiel. Also make sure that it is not a repeat subject. It needs to be within your field of study but a new subject that you have not taken before. If it does not fulfill these two requirements, the FH Kiel cannot approve the course and you will not get ECTS for the course.
Step 3: get the courses approved by Rune Gulev and get his approval for going abroad.
Step 4: apply for exchange at the host university

MOLDE UNIVERSITY IN NORWEGEN
- Is it possible for a student to extend their exchange with you from 1 semester to 1 year, providing they can find suitable courses? Yes, this is possible.
-What is the minimum English language requirement that you accept? (FCE? TOEFL?)
For international students applying for the MSc programs the requirements are as follows: TOEFL test with a minimum paper-based test score of 550 (or a minimum score of 213 on computer-based test or 79 on internet-based test) or an IELTS test with a minimum score of 6.0. However, for exchange students, the sending institution will assess if the English language knowledge is satisfying for a stay abroad. Molde University does not require a test certificate from our Erasmus exchange students.

AALBORG UNIVERSITY, Dänemark
- Is it possible for a student to extend their exchange with you from 1 semester to 1 year, providing they can find suitable courses?
Students can extend their exchange from 1 to 2 semesters, but they have to follow the courses that we offered within the programme.
-What is the minimum English language requirement that you accept? (FCE? TOEFL?)
TOEFL test (computerbased score of 233) and an IELTS test with a minimum of 6.5. Exception in 2010: The professor of Aaalborg University who is making the assessment of all applications to exchange programmes wants to see an application before he can make a decision about English language. He might also want to speak with them over the phone to check their English language skills. The students should fill in an application form and send it our International office. Of course a letter with your consent of their skills will help.
TURKU UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES
- Is it possible for a student to extend their exchange with you from 1 semester to 1 year, providing they can find suitable courses? Yes, it is possible for the students to extend their stay for one year if they wish.
-What is the minimum English language requirement that you accept? (FCE? TOEFL?)
Turku University does not require language test from exchange students coming from partner schools, but the student should have good command of English language both in oral and written
-Is there some additional information the student should know?
1) About the application at our webpage
The application form can be found at our webpage (www.tuas.fi – Applying and studying – Incoming exchange students – How to apply). Please see the detailed instructions for the application process at our webpage.
If students have problems with the application, they can contact exchange.students@turkuamk.fi The applications should be filled in electronically, printed out, signed and posted to us with the transcript of records. Learning agreement and the motivation letter.
2) Summer School
Please note that this year TUAS organizes also a Summer School 10th-24th August. The theme of the Summer School is Ethics, Ecology and Environment. The participants can choose amongst alternative courses and gain 3-5 ECTS. In addition to the studies there is also remarkable social programme (excursions, get-togethers) organized for the Summer School participants. More information about the TUAS Summer School on our website www.tuas.fi in March 15th.
3) Before arrival
The International Office at TUAS will send an information package to each student before arrival. This package contains general information about TUAS, arrival, pick-up service, accommodation, the study location, as well as free time activities. A copy of our International Student Guide will also be sent in the package. 4) When in Finland
Exchange students will have personal student tutors who will meet them on arrival and help them in practical matters at the beginning of their stay in Finland. Please note that the exchange students will be met on arrival if they have informed us about the time and place at least two weeks earlier. Arrival information can be sent by e-mail to Ms Hanna Peussa (exchange.students@turkuamk.fi).
VAASA POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSTY IN FINNLAND
- Is there a possibility for our students to write a thesis or have a work placement at Vaasa University?
No. The thesis is not written in VAMK and there is no work placement included in Vaasa. The students have to spend one academic year here and get a total of 60 ECTS credits.
